HONOURING ALAN TURING
Alan Turing (1912-1954) attended Sherborne School from 1926 to 1931 and 90 years later, Dermot Turing (also a Sherborne alumnus) unveiled a Blue Plaque at Westcott House commemorating Alan’s connection with the house and Sherborne School. He also gave a short talk hoping to inspire others to follow in Alan’s footsteps and visited the reconstruction of Foucault’s Pendulum Experiment in the stairwell of Westcott House. Alan Turing had originally done this when a pupil at Sherborne.
