During an evening at the Polish Embassy celebrating the launch of his most recent book book “X, Y & Z: The Real Story of How Enigma Was Broken”, Dermot was honoured to receive a letter from the Polish President Andrzej Duda thanking him for his efforts to recognise the achievements of Polish codebreakers in deciphering the Enigma code. The evening was hosted by the Polish Ambassador, Dr Arkady Rzegocki who read the letter to the audience before presenting it to Dermot Turing.
Dermot Turing gave a presentation about his new book, revealing some of the fascinating stories that he came across whilst doing the research for his book. He acknowledged the vital help and support that he has received from the Polish Embassy and Pilsudski Institute whilst writing the book.

The presentation was followed by a panel debate featuring Tony Comer from the GCHQ, Gordon Corera from the BBC, Nathalie Genet-Rouffiac from the French Ministry of Defence, as well as moderator Jakub Krupa from the Polish Press Agency, focusing on the cooperation between French, British and Polish intelligence which led to the decrypting of the Enigma machine.
